All of our rooms and suites at Monkstadt 1745 have been designed with your comfort in mind. They feature all the little luxuries you’d expect, with Free Wifi, tea and coffee making facilities and luxury toiletries.

Sir MacDonald’s Suite

With a king sized, four poster bed, stand-alone bath and lovely views of the Trotternish Peninsula, Sir MacDonald’s Suite is the perfect place to relax during a romantic getaway.

All of our rooms have been tastefully designed with the history of the house in mind, from the four-poster bed to the Chinoiserie style wallpaper, popular in the Georgian period. Ours have been carefully chosen for their symbolism.

Flora's Room - named after Flora MacDonald - one of the great heroines of Scottish history for the part she played in helping Bonnie Prince Charlie evade capture and escape to Skye.

Flora’s Room

Our charming top floor, guest room with comfortable king-sized bed and large private shower room.

Every bedroom has a special bespoke throw, hand-made on Skye. It  includes a small section of the Moy Hall plaid, a tartan which was worn by Bonnie Prince Charlie and torn into small sections and  gifted to supporters as mementos that were hidden in clothing or secret places.

For something a little grander there’s the contemporary Alexander Suite, our largest of suites which is spread over two stunning floors. Cosy up by your own private fireplace in the living room, or enjoy room service at your own private table in at the dining area, and then finally retreat upstairs to rest in your luxurious king sized bedroom.

The Dining Room

Did you know the dining room was the most important room on the night of Charlie and Flora’s visit? It is where the Red coat officer questioned Flora at length during dinner.

Throughout the design we have adhered to the historical records of who sat where, and as such there is one single dining table with all the chairs upholstered in MacDonald of Sleat tartan, apart from two… discover our story for yourselves.
