Monkstadt is situated in the pretty township of Linicro in the Isle of Skye. Close to the village of Uig from where the ferry service runs between Skye and the Outer Hebrides. Portree, the main town on the Island is 20 miles away with a range of shops, restaurants, pubs and varied leisure pursuits.

The wider area of Kilmuir is steeped in history. It is home to the grave of Flora MacDonald, just a 15 minute drive away, and the shore where Bonnie Prince Charlie landed in 1746 is just below Monkstadt 1745. We are only a 20 minute drive away from the Island’s capital village of Portree, if you drive via Uig.

We are 5 miles from Uig which has ferry links to the Outer Isles and 53 miles from Kyle of Lochalsh where you can access train links to the rest of the UK.

Inverness is the nearest airport to us on Skye, about 2.5 hours drive away. It is very easy to arrange a rental car from Inverness Airport. Alternatively there is Morrison Car Hire a local hire car company.
